General history

The Oswego Speedway was constructed in the city of Oswego, New York in 1951. To put the location of the speedway into context geographically, the track is located about 35 miles northwest of the major city of Syracuse, New York. It is nestled between two New York state highways, the 481 and the 104. The total seating capacity of the Oswego Speedway is approximately 10,000.

Fun facts

The Oswego Speedway is sometimes referred to as the “Big O”. The racetrack is home to the Budweiser Classic and the Race of Champions, which are both major touring series in the sport of racing. The Oswego speedway is not a traditional racetrack in that its shape is not actually a smooth oval but rather a rounded out square. This sort of track is called a four-corner track.
